Hey, Rob.
Nice to see you monkeying around with heat!
The envmap.tex that Brandon gave me to work on my NHRL cup mod worked great. It was a pic of clouds, in a blue sky on a ball. It really made good reflections on the car, and a nice by product was the big glass buildings (like at Atlanta) all those glass windows reflected clouds instead of the ugly white blobs from heat's original envmap.
As far as shine application. I could never get zmod to work right for me. I know it's just because I never gave it a fair shake though. I've seen mods with beautiful shine as a result of zmod. I used max with a glossiness setting of 2 on my car body 7 on my windows and it looked very nice in heat.

You can adjust it from 0 to 100...and find the setting you like the best. Not hit or miss like it can be in Zmod. But yes...I've seen some nice shine done in Zmod also...from Cholerix, Blaxman and RJR to name a few. I just wish we weren't limited to a certain amount of polys we can export from 3dsmax as a .mod file though.I've seen some very nice, and well detailed models from other games that would be excellent in Heat...if I could just export out a .mod file with no limit...or even a higher limit (10,000 as a limit would be perfect to me).

got one or two little things in mind, just don't know when I'm starting them. I can tell you that the biggest lesson I learned making my first mod is not to give yourself a time hack. That was a hell I don't want to experience again.
