LTCC, Get Real!

That was no fun at all. Those fools piled up as expected in lap 1 at almost every possible place. I carefully checked my rear view mirror to avoid someone rushing past and noticed even one guy from last row to join the wreckage by sheer idiocy. Made me all advance to 11 position in first lap - but then the wreckage survivors tried to rush me same idiot way that got them into the pileups in lap 1. Tried fighting cautiously, but truned out not to make much sense unless I'd have wanted to risk wrecking my car in the attempt. After 3rd such "overtaking by crowbar usage" I got sufficiently pissed and dropped the race There doesn't seem to be any penalties for foolhardy overtaking attempts, bumping away other cars and such - but for crossing the pitlane line by millimeters you get 30 sec penalties each time. Just great I start to suspect that running this series only makes any sense if you're at level speed with top 10 drivers. Else you're just treated as an obstacle on the track . At least that was the case in both previous races

At least that was the case in both previous races Yup totaly agree on this. Tho I finished the race in last position most of the "lapping" cars tried to squize their cars next to mine in a place where they should have taken more caution, when I'm getting those blue flags I open a gap asap so that they can overtake me without damaging their car or mine but some of them never seem to learn. General race rule is "Overtaking is the responsibility of the overtaking car. Do not make a pass unless it's safe to do so. Even if the car in front is slowing you down and even if the car in front is a lap behind." Looking back on all the races this rule never got used to punish any driver. Chris p.s. Karl did you ever get any reply on that protest you filed in for race #4?

Yeah - got a feedback on that protest: AFTER yesterday's race, after I told the admin I'm entirely pissed about ontrack behavior He told me they decided it simply had been my own faults: I was was told I had forced the guy that got me offtrack first to that by blocking his line. On the hit at lapping I was at fault as well as I didn't make place earlier on the infield... when that lapping car still was about 150m behind... just great

They couldn't even take the time to reply to your pm, that you had sent them over a week ago? It's called common courtesy on there part, to respond to drivers questions and protests. That sucks they couldn't respond to you back by pm, in a timely fashion. IMHO.

They couldn't even take the time to reply to your pm, that you had sent them over a week ago? The explanation the admin gave me was that his internet connection had been down all the week. What a lucky guy it just got back up in time for the race....

After some partly really nasty postrace discussion I have withdrawn both Speedsims cars from the series.
Looks like there's a fundamental different understanding about correct ontrack behavior, thus there's no reason to continue joining that series

Will be easier to follow as Triz has joined in the discussion and part of it now is in english The bottomline for me is defending your position as a slower driver seems to be inappropiate in LTCC. Makes it pretty much just running laps to me. Thus useless Alonso wouldn't ever have won his first championship at all with LTCC rules

Chris and Triz, whatever you decide, don't let those guys knock you down!! I've watched the replay twice, you did NOTHING wrong on the track!! Remember every driver fast or slow is allowed a piece of real estate on the track!! Take care, Dave
