I ran an open wheel league using the CartHeat mod awhile back and am considering bringing it back as I did with the LCHRL which has had over 10 racers all 3 weeks this season! Seems the move to Friday was a good one! These first 3 races and the All-Star 2 weeks prior have been the best races we've had sense being back!
If I get over 10 votes yes, I will consider re-starting the league late this year for a test season as I did with LCHRL.
Currently votes are 8-2

I like them both, but Cart2 would probably break the spirits of most people. lol Or we talking the platinum grand prix.

Hi Duster, I've been following your thread over at TMS regarding this subject, and since you also posted on here, thought I would respond to it on here also. Your a little vague about the info for having an IRL league, could you please maybe specify a little more on it please? For instance: 1.As you know we are an international league. Would your IRL league race times be easy for people of all different time zones to be able to join? 2. What days would the league be run on? 3. Why have a league geared towards just one mod? Why not have a league for different types of mods, and race different mods? 4. I've noticed LCHRL is still using NHRL forums, would this new league have it's own forums and web site? As you know we had a very successful series using the IRL mod last year. Few things to keep in mind, the IRL mod is very high poly so your going to need a very good server if your looking to field a decent size grid. Speedsims Server worked out great for this. Last I can remember when we did the 10 year heat festival, you were a little gun shy on using the heatfinder servers as a backup server for certain reasons. Since that time have you updated the heatfinder servers so you would be able to launch a series with these servers without any problems? Just jotting down some ideas, so maybe it will help you in the future.

Although... 3) Thats the way I have always done things, I feel there are places and needs for both methods of an online league. NHRL thrived for years running basically the same thing. (and thats why I am a dedicated member). 4) This is on purpose, no need to add more forums to our community. No.

NHRL runs more then one mod, and has been around for a very long time, and consistant in running series every year. Regarding # 4. That was just and idea, since you also run HF and have a community face book, might of been nice if you had your own place for this. But that is really minor stuff at this point. I think 1 and 2 are the important one's to think about. I guess in the nut shell, I'm the type of guy who likes to have some kind of a plan, when I announce some ideas, or have some kind of an idea on how I would go about doing things, when people do ask.

I think your taking this further than it currently is at. This is VERY preliminary, it may not even happen and is only an idea. This is to gather community interest and discussion, such as yours!

True, it might be very preliminary. But the reason I ask is, some guys here might be keen in racing it, but probably would not show much interest if they didn't know what time the races start at. Since you have to remember everyone here is on different time zones. I posted asking questions, because it was posted here to begin with, and most of the guys I race with are international guys.

I generally find myself ignoring these sort of polls altogether if there isn't at least a bit of basic information. At least a ballpark figure for race times. Then I would know if it was suitable for me time wise. Rather than waste time expressing interest, voting etc & then when the details come out, discover there is no way I could race at that time. Just my 2 cents worth. Cheers...

Same here simply because it has more than just once turned out I didn't want to join anymore on the specific terms when those finally surfaced: wrong day, wrong time, wrong mod, wrong race lengths, etc pp For example though I'd say yes to an Indy style league, I wouldn't at all to a CART 2 series on Wednesdays, 2am CET, with 2h races

In this case I would count both of you as yes votes toward further research and time investment.

That is the mod to do. Personal challenge, yes, online racing, no. I really like open wheel stuff, it is fun, challenging, and the way you guys do races, we're not here all day. As for race lengths, while moderating @ heatfinder, someone came onto the chat, and expressed interest in heat leagues mainly because he was tired of his rfactor f1 league being 2 hrs long. I told him most leagues in heat don't go over an hour. Hard to keep your attention, and unless you're getting paid for it, you shouldn't be doing it for more than 90 minutes to 2 hours anyways.

I would have thought you would get more like... 'I guess I need to put up a bit more info for my polls'. Cheers...
