My other project at the mo is an Aussie one - to redo a couple of cars and then a carset from the 1977 Australian Touring Car Championship heres one I made this one for the Aussieclassic mod I did a few years back, then have revised the shape some more etc. The paint is crap, just a conversion from the old mod, these will have all new paints, and run against L34 Toranas Back in 1977 we raced actual production cars, like these . This is the 1975 Ford Falcon GT, model XB, a popular 2 door powered by the legendary 351 c.i. cleveland engine Bubba

ah, but that's another tin of fish entirely as Bathurst 77 would need to be a separate carset - they ran the new A9Xs at Bathurst that year not the L34s and Moffat and Co ran the new XC as did many others, rather than XBs. The 77 ATCC saw Moffat and Bond win just about everything in their red white and blue XBs
fortunately however I have an A9x in the works as well as the L34, and of course I already have done XCs so updating this to that isnt too hard.

Awsume bubba cant wait. Yes i remember bathurst well with the a9xs debut @ the sandown500 just weeks before hand and peter(brock) taking the win( 7 ina row if i remember right).
Now we just need some new aussie/kiwi tracks. Ive seen lakeside and pukekohe for nascar racing 2003 but wouldnt no who to talk to about conversion or even permision to use the tracks.
Better stop now lol or il be asking for groupC(last of the big bangers,vh,vk xd,xe KBs comaro, setons capri just to name afew ledgends.

It is possible to convert tracks to HEAT from other sources using simgaragetools, which I have, but so far haven't delved into it. I'd love to have Teratonga in HEAT, its one of my favourite tracks anywhere ever. I have a F5000 mod in the think tank too, and a Lola 332 body I made. 1972 Tasman series, anyone? Bubba

Wow.. that sound like you have a plate full of mod projects Whish I'd be that fast. I'm only able to work on one project at the same time, else I'll get distracted and soon get lost I'd have loved to convert Chatham and Desert Speedway (last missing SCGTS tracks) for example, but never got started. Now with the GT1 cars in the making, I doubt I'll ever manage to start on making tracks

Yeah, I hear you. I have wanted to try some tracks and conversions, especially Australian tracks for the mods I've made, but my cars get in the way.
I find that, for me, I have to work on several at once so I can get variety and chop and change. Today I worked on the cars I want to add to SpiritofHEAT 50s, yesterday it was 1977ATCC cars, before that add on cars for Classic Can Am and the Panoz for SCGT. If I get too involved in just one, I get burned out. I like lots of different racing, lots of variety. I even sometimes just crank up the original HEAT game and drive Nascars - they are a blast on road courses! Tee hee!
I once made a track for HEAT, following the tutorials over at FFS racing, got it into the game and it actually worked and everything! Although... I made the scale too small, entered something wrong and the first time I used it, it was about the size of a dining room table! Man, all these cars going INSANE trying to drive around it in really really small circles!! Damn I laughed... got the scale sorted out finally.
Has anyone had any luck editing tracks in simgarage tools, you know, the David Noonan program? I have it and can read/write files but tried removing some objects from Sebring to "back date it" and it crashed, I think because it didn't have the texture files. DUnno... instead I made blank transparent texture files, used simgarage to identify what files were mapped to what objects and turned the objects "invisible" this way. I also made straw bale textures and wooden picket fences to replace concrete and tire walls and now my Sebring looks about 1950 heeee!

mmhh... I was burned out for at least a couple of months after finishing each of of my mods... maybe your way is the better one
About tracks... I have zero knowledge on anything regarding trackmaking and and those new tools, though I had planned to try working with those. Problem is, once I dig into that matter, I'll dig deep.... really deep, as this is the way I usually go for things. And that would not just be time consuming, I fear, but exhausting as well.
So for now, I better leave track making to others. Maybe some other maniac like me one day puts out some tutorial for tracks like the one I made for cars.

It would be good if they did - theres some track making tutorials over at FFS racing but they are not as clear or precise as yours.
One thing about many projects I find is that on the days that I just dont "feel" like working on, say the Panoz, I can do something else. Keeps me fresher, I find.

I have a large collection of info (not necessarily (but possibly) layed out in tutorial form) on track making from Oleg from sometime ago. I was able to start a scratch track and get it in game but had some personal stuff come up that got in the way and it's another stalled project I am getting the bug again and I have 2 tracks in mind, one real and one made up that would be very unique, but enough of that for the time being I'll share it if I can get permission...anyone know how to contact Oleg still?

I don't think Joleg has a problem when you share it. Actually he put all his stuff on the net for everyone who could use it. But you can try the modsquad, sometimes he take a look there.

Yes...I agree with these guys.I don't think Oleg would mind at all. He's extremely busy nowadays and doesn't get to mess with Heat anymore, and it's been awhile since I've seen him at The Mod Squad too.But he made tracks, tools and tutorials so folks can use them.
