Wow! very nice!!! I stand (acually sitting lol) in awe! I wish I could model from scratch like that, which is what I think I read you did.
Any links on tuts on how to get started with that type of modeling? and if you're doing that all in zmod, then I'm REALLY REALLY impressed!

Yep, scratch build in zmod
It's based on using a highly accurate blueprint, that shows the car from top, side, front, rear - without any distortions from perspective view. The problem is that there's rarely such accurate blueprints... and sometimes there isn't any blueprint available at all. That case you have to get as many photos as you can, try to get a 3D-idea how the car looks like and start with this. The GTP Nissan I had to build this way.
The main problem on either way (blueprint or no) is making the rough shape. Once you have made that, the rest is relatively easy, as it's adding detail and smoothing/correcting the shape - though that is the most time consuming task.
Dave had found some very good tutorial for making models from scratch. Just have lost the link. Maybe Dave could post it here ?

Wow very nice Karl!! Bov here's the tutorial that Karl is referring to for building models by scratch. www.etspe.ca/zmt/v2/It's very impressive how Karl does everything from scratch blows my mind away. This tutorial is great if you use Zmod version 1.07... I've been reading about this stuff for several weeks and have messed around with it, and for someone who knew zero about modeling it's awesome for learning, use this guide along with Karl's tutorial..

just so you don't think I'm lazy And finally I've decided how to approach the release of the GT1 cars: They'll come in 2 parts. Part one will be - 4 Lotus Elise - 6 McLaren F1 GTR - 6 Porsche 911 GT1 Part 2 will be released considerably later; it will have - Lister Storm GTL - Mercedes CLK GTR - Panoz GTR ... unless someone else takes over the making of any of the cars in part 2. That case it might advance to pack 1 ;D In case you get funny ideas about when any of the packages will be released: There's no timeline set, but if I'll be able to stay in that ZEN-modding-mood on the next weeks, there might be at least some beta at the end of the year.

i've been nuts busy the last few weeks but if you got blueprints I'll take a whack at one of the part2 vehicles. i use 3ds studio max r.3 - that's ok i assume

Karl you are a HERO!!! And everyone else that has assisted thus far. Those GT1 cars look awesome! I'm curious and don't take this the wrong way but will there/was there any other GT2 or GT3 cars from the same era that will add. I say this because of the huge variety differences in the class GT3: Porsche BMW GT2: Porsche BMW Saleen Vector GT1: Lotus Mclaren Porsche Lister Mercedes Panoz Of course more power is some what more fun to drive but I was just thinking would be rather kool to get all possible GT1 2 and 3 cars from that whole era. And This may be all that there was I don't know to be totally honest I never knew about SCGTS before coming across speedsims and these awesome MODs!!! ;D Harding

I say this because of the huge variety differences in the class Just like it was in the original SCGT game - and in real life racing ;D There WAS a lower number of different cars in lower classes So far the only other cars that AFAIK have run in 97 GT3 : ------ Panoz Esperante (bdford was working on that one) GT2: ------ Marcos LM600, Chriysler Viper GTS-R, Morgan Plus 8 GTR, TVR Cebera, Callaway Corvette If someone feels the need to add some of these GT2 cars and get into 3D modeling opn the way , I'd be happy to assist. But since I'll be quite busy with doing the GT1 cars, running a league, racing in 3 leagues, working and having a life apart from simracing ;D, I won't work on any further GT2/3 update in at least the next 6 month. If ever
