I've had this idea for awhile now, discussed this with at least one person, may not be feasible. But here it goes.
Now that this mod has GT1 2 and 3, perhaps we could have all three classes on the track at the same time. Sorta like ALMS GA (now USCC or USCR?) style. One problem is that turnout may not be the greatest for this. I've also thought of a way to try to get everyone in every class. (because most people like to be in the fastest car.
Teams can only have one person per class. But here is the plus. but technically you would only be racing the person in your class. So if you're in GT2, you can ignore that GT1 that may be lapping you, or ignore that GT3 you're lapping, and try to get past that GT2 for class victory. So each class would have its own race going on.
So three different races for three different classes, three different titles as well. One team championship though. Hence why one person per class, so it would max out at three people per team.
This would have issues obviously, turnout may not be high enough for this idea. Plus there are those that like to compete together on a team, may not want to be apart.
I want to hear Frank opinions. I won't be offended, because I know the drawbacks. I just want to hear what people think if this is something they would like to do? If not, that is ok too.
If this doesn't work, then maybe a simple GT1 series?

I like the idea of running all 3 classes in one race, but don't think you should put a limit on Team or how many cars are in the class.

I like the idea very much indeed. However, in the end it will all come down to how many people turn up. If u have only 3 class for example competing in one class... 3 car race is not very exciting in my view. If you have 3 classes, you'll need at least maybe 15 people in total to make it fun. Having 5 cars per class on track racing eachother is pretty much absolute minimum in my view.
It'll work if the turnup is high enough. Question is... do we have enough people in our community to fill the field? Alternatively... Think back our multi-mod series... Maybe do races in gt3's, gt2's and gt1's. 3 tracks 9 races?
cheers,
Triz

One series we raced the GT2's and GT3's during the same race, but there was an unspoken kind of agreement to where the faster guys raced in the GT3's. Crash and I enjoyed that big time, trying to out fox the GT2 guys.. The GT3's were better on fuel mileage. Anyhow, each class was treated with a special points system, and each class was awarded a win. Plus it did not matter if you were on a team or not. I would totally get rid of the team points idea.. Then we did another type of series, with 8 or 12 events, first half of the series we raced just the GT3's, then we switched over to the GT2's and midway thru the series. That was a blast of a series also.. But as of right now, I think going with how the multimod series was raced is a better option, because you don't know inadvance how many people would actually race in the series.. 3 tracks 9 race ideas? Only thing I would change is the idea of running the exact same track. For example the GT1's would do better on longer tracks, to where the GT3's would do nicer on a shorter RC track. You could kinda mix up the track selections for each class.. Might be a bit more fun, and peeps wouldn't get tired of driving the same track 3 weeks in a row. Anyhow, if you guys do choose to do this, let me know and I can send you the series info, of how we did the old GT2 and GT3 races from years back with the point system and all that good stuff.

Thanks for the input. Obviously the team idea is out. Triz is right about the turnout. (Maybe we can do the multiclass idea as a special event in the future if there is good turnout for the series itself.)
@dave I'm already working on some tracks for each class. I think I have GT1 set if it were to be 3 tracks per class. Sorta like how these racing games work if you're doing single player, you start with the GT3's, then make your way to the GT2's, then finally go to the GT1's for the season finale.

Might even get some new people in too since the GT3's might be a little easier to begin with. Then after a race or two move up the ladder to GT2's and ultimately the GT1's. For beginners it is a good way to get used to RC racing and for the veterans... I don't think it's boring either Like Dave said, racing 3 tracks 3 times might indeed be a little boring in the end. Especially if the cars differ quite a lot in performance. So keeping the longer tracks for the GT1's would be a better ideas indeed. Anyhow, I think this whole idea of different class series is a nice idea which is worth developing!! cheers, Triz

Hey Ryan, Quick question, where would this series be raced at? I know we all raced together here, but we've all kinda drifted in different directions over the years. Me with modding full time now. Triz heading up FDR/SpeedSims, and you over at Cyber leagues. Would this series be kept here at home to where the mods are located at? It's your baby and your idea.. I'm just asking bud.. p.s. Ryan, I don't care where the series is located at. Because I know you would do a 1st class job of taken care of it.. Cheers, Dave

Running 3 different series races sounds like a pain in the butt, no offence. Could whittle it down to maybe GT1 races and then GT2/GT3 multi-class races. Team idea sounds kind of neat however it'd be like pulling straws on who get's to race in what class. Plus what to do with teams that only have 2 drivers. Dave mentioned to me a while back about doing sort of a 'Gentleman's rules' fun race series with the GT1's seeings how where all adults and usually run clean races with each other and be sort of lenient if there was contact. Might be something worth thinking about. Saturdays @ 7pm eastern might be a nice race time. IF you need a co-admin just let me know

Well I think it can be a pain in the butt, for me the pain in the butt as a newbie was not knowing what setup to get, I will be trying to make sure there are base setups for every track/class. This is still a WIP. @dave, I wouldn't mind doing it here, we don't need five dogs for every one bone, if that makes sense. Seems to be the perfect place to do it. This will probably be started after the ferrari series is done. I just wanted opinions, and ideas. Which I got. And I'm glad. I do think the team idea is out now. That main idea was to get more people in each class. but I don't want ppl to think they're pulling straws for GT1 either. More posted as I can update it.
