Agreed really BUT if you'r lapping me and I give the >>> does that mean I'm going right or you should go right. I think of these as turn signals and so I would go to the right. So if you were approaching me and I was on the right side I'd indicate >>> that I'd stay there. Not <<< meaning that YOU should go left. Besides race cars dont have turn signals.
I understand the TY's but I think they could be saved for after the race or here at the forum.
My point BTW about 'xxx' VS 'xxxxxxxxxxxx' is that race control will broadcast long messages so that catches the attention, pit out messages are short and are more easily disregardable. I don't care if it's 'xxx', 'out', 'exit' as those all are the same.

From rules section: ChattingThere's no chatting allowed while racing ! Only the following predefined commands shall be submitted at specific situations * Go - Pole sitter signal for race start * Pits - before entiring pit lane * XXX - before exiting pit lane (mandatory !) * lap - signal to the driver in front that is to be lapped * <<< - " please overtake on the left" * >>> - " please overtake on the right" As for typing while racing... there's nice little tools out there (for free) that let you assign all those predefined chat messages to your steering device's buttons. So you won't even have so much as to look for your keyboard. Tools such as shorty and Joy2key. Which are the ones I'm using, btw

Logitec has a profiler but i cant get it to work. The Logitech profiler works only with the Momo, Driving Force Pro and the G25 wheels. If you have a older steering wheel it doesn't work.

I have a DFP but I can't get the profiler to work in NH either. LFS it's fine though.

Yeh I know K.Sheppard, I saw one the other week was something like "I am now leaving the pits" takes a very long time to read in race time, I would too like it if we could all start using just 3 X's "XXX" short sharp and if your racing don't even need to move your eyes off the track. I'm interested in these tools Karl, but I use a PS2 controller with damn near every button used up already, would they work on the keyboard with a one touch button? or on my mouse? I'm down off my cap again which is why I ask down to dial-up speed . If it does work on any hardware I suggest we should all d/l and install and assign these just to the short and sharp "IN" or PPP" and "EXIT" or "XXX", this wouldn't just help in less confusing commands, but also taking away any potential accidents due to trying to reach the keyboard to punch in the code. It would be really good because when I'm practicing I have to practice where I will put in pitting codes hehe.

your probably saying that i was bossing you around by telling you to get in front of me. Was just trying to be fair. Nope didnt think that ! You were just trying to help Im sure, But it was hard for me to go up front ......... when i was last car on grid . In my message I think i said "everyone " was yelling at me . thanks for your honesty tho Bmx ... AND let the Adminsistrator or Server do the Chatting- txting, when starting the race PLEASE. ..........They will say who says (GO,GO,GO) - (TEN)

Looks like it's easier when race admin takes care about start procedure.
Only "problem": it will take a little while longer, as admin will have to cycle through field to check if everybody is in position - which I have not done on previous races. But it's probably best way to get started
We'll know more on next race ;D

This way you wont have to cycle through and you can be doing over things like tire pressures pit strategy etc
