Karl will leaving the Dummy out and the Model out remove the wheel from the controls config menu? Why are you so intent on leaving a steering wheel out of your mod? Just because you might (or might not) use a wheel for driving, doesn't mean you have to leave it out....when you can edit one line in the options.cfg file and take it out on your own computer. Others (like myself) may still want to see the wheel turning in the car, so we can have something to judge by visually.

I was thinking why have a wheel in the car when theres one in front of you. Look at 99% of the mods out there for Heat. They all have wheels in the cockpit. Are you wanting to be in the 1% that is different?....LOL It is used for a visual aid by some folks...to help with their "real" wheel calibration, to see how their setup is doing with the wheel...etc. I'd hope you would put it in there, personally. And I know some of you guys don't have them to look at, but if you guys would take a look at the "stock.car" file and unpack that, and load the parts into Zmod, you guys can see a lot of what the original creators of Heat did with the various dummy helpers for calling up certain things. I would dare say that most, if not all, mod makers in Heat, have at least taken a look to see how that stuff is done in the original game... and went from there. Of course Cholerix took it a few steps further, and wrote down everything you'd see in the original files....so this way, you not only have visual stuff to look at from the original Heat files, but you also have written guides for it as well. My advice to a mod maker for Heat (or any game for that matter) would be this.... Take your time on making a mod. The more time you spend on something, the better it will be. The more time you have to look at something, the more you see what can be done to improve it even more. This will also save you from having to provide update after update to the mods you make. One thing that will turn off a person from a mod, is having to patch it over and over again for a fix the creator "forgets" to include the first time around. Rushing to get something out, to either meet a deadline that a person has set, or to just get it done and out there to make a name for yourself, will end up showing in the final product. I think back to some of the stuff I have seen recently with the rFactor game. Mods that have patch, after patch, after patch....because things were wrong with it from the beginning. And this coming from "groups" of people doing it all. I have even seen tracks done this way recently too. Aside from the mass converting from other games (mostly without permission) that goes on in rFactor, the multiple patches for a mod or track really turns me off from something like that as well. I just don't understand why they couldn't just take their time and get it right the first time.

Take your time I have never been able to meet my own planning in modding Simply because on the way there was always things stepping into the schedule - like for example I wasn't satisfied by the result up to planned release date
