Interested in bi-weekly GT2/3 series ?

ok, my DSL line trouble seems to have been sorted out for the biggest part. So I could go for some more racing activities. Unfortunatly interest in GroupC seems to have dwindled with the years gone by , and I would hate to setup another series if there's no interest in such.

So I'm requesting for some feedback:

How's your interest in some GT2/GT3 series, using SCGTS mod ?

I have thought about

• 6 or 8 events
  
• bi-weekly schedule
  
• 2 heats on each events
  
• reverse grid on 2nd heat
  
• race lengths about 15-30 min
  
• standing starts
  

Basically about same format VTA series is running.

Obviously depends on the time, but if it`s at about the same as Group C is usually scheduled, then it should`nt be a problem.

What the difference between GT2 and GT3 cars, I think GT2 is faster, Will they be ran side by side or on different track different GT2 or 3?

I am interested too, but it will come down to time, sometime during the weekend I may be able to make some events

I'm with crach...the group c time slot seems to be good...mixed class racing is my favorite ;D

Yup, mixed class racing is what it's up to.

GT2 are faster than GT3, but have a more delicate handling - and considerable higher fuel consumption.

I am interested in another series, of course. though vision is erratic i was good the last 2 weekends; i never know.
How would you handle a 2 class points situation? and would you assign something like previous champions have to run gt2 or perhaps have to run gt3. or say you have to run 1/2 the races in one class and the other races in the other? just thinking out loud.

The SCGTS series sounds fantastic...HOWEVER...now im back at school, sunday nights are not an option. WEll, if theyre at the same time as the GroupC meets and such. Even morning races would suit me better. But this is only me, and Im aware that the majority would prefer the sunday slot. Apologies for my prolonged absence as well, Ive only just fixed up my DSL wireless adaptor in here.

Problem with Date/Time is to find the most convenient combination for at least 3 timezones.

I'm open to any suggestion regarding what time to run the series, but I'd vote for Sundays as Saturdays had proved not to be convenient in recent series. There's even almost no traffic on site visits on Saturdays.

10pm CET is 4pm EST , 6am Melbourne time and 9pm London time.
So rather Sunday evenings instead of nights

Another slot would be at about
1pm CET = 12 am London = 9pm Melbourne (Saturday) = 7am EST
Any US locations further west would be < 7am...

For me, I'd rather vote for 10pm CET for personal reasons, but that's just one vote.

Good question !
I won't "assign" people to specific cars/classes - that's rather a matter of volunteering IMO. Some drivers would probably even in a GT3 still be able to run out other drivers in GT2 cars - but the GT2s disadvantage in fuel consumption is outweighted by speed in total. In almost all circumstances (race length, wear rate).

My idea was handing out more points to GT3 class cars.

Something like 10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for GT2
and 18-15-12-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for GT3

As I remember right Vroom used to have races at 3pm CET = 2pm London = 11pm Melbourne = 9am EST saturdays.
But I also recall that some people did not join because they were on the westcoast and that the races were at 6am for them.

The slot we currently use (sundays) still gives the most racers online for the schedules that are made.

10cet works for me if the wife is of but if I can get the little guy down for a nap it would be about 2.5 - 3hrs. earlier (for those times she is working)

i'm on east coast usa, 7am eastern is too early for me. anything after 9am, 8:30 is this earliest i can handle. 1am the latest in est

Just for myself as a NZ (Richie too) it is pretty much impossible for me to make the current time as that is 8am Monday morning and I have school I would possibly be able to make the 2nd option ya said Carl that would mean 11pm Saturday night, I'm saying it should change but a more central time for me would mean an extra car on the track 70% of the time although saying that a time that would suit me best probably throws out 3 or 4 other drivers.

Just an idea I just thought up, how about a two group kind of thing? Sort of one group for one side of the world and another time or day for the other, weather that would be as exciting as all cars on the same track I dought but it would mean more cars in total in the league. From previous/current experience during week nights Aussie+NZ can race.

Just an idea to chuck into the works, feel free to discard at the next bus stop
