The Enzo Race from my viewpoint:
Special Event: ENZO / Riverside Canam2.
Wow what a race folks, estimated time for this race was 1 hour and 5 minutes, but all in all it took almost an hour and 20 minutes.
It was some race, some people conceded to the wrecker gods and departed from the race, we wont mention any names huh Spike lol.
I think his wife came home and made him stop racing
.
Well at the start everything went fairly cleanly I dont recall any incidents, but this might be due to my age and memory capability lol.
Cause as you all know that replays in HEAT only go up to 59 minutes and some seconds anything beyond that time limit is being removed from the start/beginning of the replay, so that the replay will still have the finish event at the end of the replay.... I guess the finish is way more important then the start. Actually if I had thought about it i would heve made sure the race was NO longer then say 57 minutes. But its too late now so, thats food for next time.
In the Esses all went well and nobody got bitten by the wall of death on the left side of the second S turn, alot of joggeling for position was still going on.
Coming up to the turnabout after the esses I ran into the back of Chris, but was a very small bump, so was fairly sure that i didnt hurt his car. (not again huh Chris)
Spidolf started last and was determined to be a moving obstacle,<<<(JOKE) although he did a very good job and stuck it out till the end, Well Done Spidolf.
Triz well what can we say about our STAR racer, he just cant help winning, its in his gene's. No matter what car you put him in he will win. Good job Triz and thanks for the time taken to coordinate the race itself.
And then Chris, yeah usually he is up there with the big boys but this evening 's race proved to be to much for him, after 3 days of biljards competition he was just wiped out tired, and that just didnt help him, so he retired late in the race. Chris, next one wont be so long mate.
Then there is Patch well this old mate still knows how to handle fast cars with 67 years of experience, but the win didnt come to him this time, a few mistakes, a tire wall incident, didnt help at all, but he did come in third place and I think thats very comendable, job well done Bill, great stuff.
And then Spike I mentioned allready that he retired but the thing that really cracked me up was his comment just before he retired, to the tune of, I give up these cars are to much for me or something to that effect. Spike dont let them get to you mate, just praccy and keep trying. Maybe next time you will win as you did with Group C cars.
And me what can I say about Gramps, not much really, except that I tried my best, came in second and that for me is not bad at all, and i wont mention the three pitstops i made
.
I wanna thank all of you who participated in this special event, with my Enzo mod for making the event a success, I really do think its worth repeating and if you guys agree, then chime in and lets see what we can do with the enzo's next time.
My mind is already racing on LeMans or Sebring with these Enzo beasty's........ the posibilitys are endless, how about daytona oval.
Let us know what you would like in the future and we will try to accomodate everyone.
Thanx all again for making this event a success, I applaud you all for running!!!!!!
Rob (Gramps)
