alright, been running this track. I really love how this car responds to setup adjustments, but that is another topic.
I have two issues with this track. I will post pics if i need to.
#1 coming right off of turn 1 if you go slightly too far off to the left, you get a penalty, i don't see a benefit from doing that, so i don't see why there should be a penalty there. I could see there being an issue during a race where it could even be two wide and causing a problem.
The next concern is the really sharp turn as in the turn 3d on the blackhawk farms website, but it is much sharper in the game, feels very sudden, comes with out warning, i swear some laps i just go right into the wall.
Now obviously, you could tell me to suck it up, and deal. Which I'm prepared to do. But I just want to make sure these issues are known for anyone practicing.
This track comes at you fast, and is very sensitive on the penalties.

Yup, dangerous place. And on my first practicing on the track I ended up there almost every lap. In the races, however, that wasn't ever the place where trouble showed, because everybody knew its dangerous. Incidents rather showed in T1 and in 2nd last turn. You just have to get used to that turn. Easiest way is NOT accelerating from previous turn, or at least brake way earlier than the track indicates it would be ok.

the Carter brothers from Chicago requested this track for f2000, which they raced (not virtually). their input was used and they indicated that going off the edge inside or out, would generally cause slides or problems because it was both rough and slick. to model that effect we have penalty areas. smoke's more recent efforts are more realistic but that's what we have here. Real Track, which is non spectator for insurance and other reasons so you don't here about it much.

Really...The 4th turn is very sharp and the wall is very near. People should make it carefully in 1st lap...
I did yesterday 1:12.7 in practice...

The Penalty Traps in Blackhawk Farms are extremely tight. That track, Traps, etc were all done to spec for Keith Carter and Dave Hopple for their Heat F2000 Mod League. They are the SCCA Formula Continental guys over at apexspeed.com and used Heat in their off season, Blackhawk Farms being their home track. I mistakenly asked if they had any picture details of the track and they sent me hundreds of photos, incar videos, realtime race data, satellite imagery, etc. I knew this would not be a normal project when receiving that package. That track was basically totally rebuilt, they would re-test and provide huge lists of changes wanted, down to them debating if a corner should have a half degree more or less banking to it. When completed, I told them I would never work with them again on a track. ;D Couple of great guys, we had a blast with that one. As far as the layout not matching the website photo, not sure what to say there, I still have the track layout as overlaid on the satellite imagery, and Keith and Dave's approval from driving it on a regular basis. I know where I'd put my money if it is correct vs the website, at least for the timeframe that track was built.

Yes and maybe it's NHeat physics engine but Mustang did a backflip off of rumbe strip at practice the other week. Great track, really flowing except that one track where you fly straight into a wall(if you brake a little late) because its so sharp

If you provide any screenshots of that location, I could take a look.

One doubt...In rules, it says "Go to the Shelby mod folder and open up options.cfg with notepad (or any other edit program). Set the listed attributes to the settings listed as follows:"
But my Shelby folder doesn't have this file options.cfg
What can i do?
Thanks!

Well you can redownload the mod. Or simply, grab another options.cfg from another mod, and copy it into your Shelby folder. It's your personal settings how you setup your options.cfg.

Set the listed attributes to the settings listed as follows:" But my Shelby folder doesn't have this file options.cfg What can i do? Thanks! See if the mod folder has a file that just says "options". If so, you may not have your Folder Options in Windows set for the extensions to be shown. If that is the case, you can go in and turn them on... or just right click on the "options" file in the mod folder and "open with" Notepad. Not everyone knows about this, and I'd say most don't have file extensions turned on to see if it is a .txt, .cfg, .car or whatever the case may be.... so you aren't the only one that has probably had this problem before.

Set the listed attributes to the settings listed as follows:" But my Shelby folder doesn't have this file options.cfg What can i do? Thanks! Heat generates an options.cfg in EACH mod folder at first start of that mod. Thus be assured there is a specific options.cfg for the Shelby mod on your HD.... you are maybe running Win7 or Vista ? Win7/Vista doesn't run the mod from the mod folder, but from a private folder it copies to the users "home" directory. Check for a hidden VirtualStore folder on your HD - it will have a copy of the full Heat path, including the mod. This is where you'll find the options.cfg

Great track, really flowing except that one track where you fly straight into a wall(if you brake a little late) because its so sharp Unlike with some other mods, not even the AI manages to flip the Shelby. So its VERY unlikely its a physics problem you are talking about And just as mentioned - the only reason you run straight into the wall is because the brake- and turning-in points LOOK to be later than they are. But its fairly easy to get used to braking earlier ;D
