Next weekend, (May 14th) at 22:00 pm CET speedsims will be hosting another one off race! This time in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 we will be running forty laps in the team players mod Gasoline Alley. This mod represents cars from 1960-1964, the last years a front engine car won the Indianapolis 500. Where can I get the mod? From here ffsracing.com/downloads/allnascarheatmods/paved/GasolineAlley_Folder.rarWhat about the track? We'll be using the brickyard track that Lucky released. Which can be acquired here. ffsracing.com/downloads/allnascarheattracks/pavedoval/Brickyard.zipThe race distance is 40 laps, 100 miles, at 2X which means you'll have to make a pit stop. The date again is may 14th. Sign up here!

Gonna try and make it For now I'll reserve the #13 and post a paint once I know for sure.
For others who wish to paint their own there is a psp template in the link ucrdoh posted called template-watson.zip, look for it in the Gasoline Alley folder when you install it.

9pm UTC is 5pm ET (EDT/Eastern US) Most people here do not know the difference between EST and EDT so this will only cause confusion.

It should be a lot of fun, the track and cars seem to work together really well. You can even hit the wall and be fine. They also seem to draft really well. I don't know if they could in real life, but they can here.

I had a blast running against the AI. Will have to add a little gear to 4th though otherwise you'll risk blowing the motor when drafting

i see what you mean, but when you change that gear on fourth, it really slows down the car when you're by yourself. I haven't fully decided what i'm going to do in that department yet. But the setup that comes with the track, is very good. You don't have as many options as you do with like an indy car. but I think that is a good thing, it allows you to be more creative with your setup.

Normally it's not a good idea to just change your 4th gear. Your going to want to check out the other gears at the same time to make them behave the proper way. Anyhow, when your not in a draft you will automatically have slower times. While testing, keep an eye on your rpm's, and also pay close attention to your tape. (This will help so your car does not over heat) I won't be able to attend this weeks race. But I'm sure you guys will have a great time! Chow!

uhhhh? tape? there is "grille tape" nor is there a wing adjustments, or sway bars. I'd like to quote ash from "army of darkness" "just me baby, just me. " I think that is what sums up the setups here. lol

Yep' tape" equals grille tape. I guess that's what some of us old heat veterans call it. Depending on how much "tape" you use, can initiate over heating of a car.

oh, i worded that wrong, tape, or grille tape, is not something you can adjust in the mod. Those team players guys never made it easy.
As for practice on tuesday, if people want to try for 5:30 eastern time or later, to work with me. but i can do 4pm eastern on friday this week.
