a few things learned from the practice.
You know the darlington stripe? You're gonna get an indy stripe. But if you're smart, you won't get any damage when you hit the wall.
If you draft, speeds will creep up on you really, fast, and you may not be able to handle the turns well, so know your limits. Also, you can blow your engine if you're using the original gears, so pull out of the draft.
If someone is drafting you, be watchful of your speed, it can push you into higher speeds.
If you're passing, it should be wide enough on the straight. It can be done on the turns too, just be weary of the wall. Don't block, I know we all do it sometimes, but we don't need any unfortunate accidents.
As for pitting, don't merge between turn one and two. Merge after turn two. Also, how, and when you pit is up to you. There are multiple strategies here.
and most of all, they are a blast, so have fun!

Thanks Dave. I know it is possible to convert, Bov or Reef usually help me out with that. I unfortunately don't have PSP to do so myself (obviously).
I'll take number 22.

Bunch of pics from the 1964 Indy 500 here www.randyayersmodeling.com/modelingforum/viewtopic.php?p=252685&sid=0d809b1e7ff3d8db5ce72731ce5933c3 figured it might help with some paint inspirations. I know one thing I'll be busy with PSP & Gimp for a while adding some of these cars to the mod . Top speed @ redline seems to be 179mph so when you hit 177mph back off the throttle otherwise you risk blowing the motor. This is going to be a drafting type of race so like ucrdoh said don't block too much because once they pass you can catch their draft instead. If the pack happens too spread out back off the throttle till the car behind you catches up then you two can draft each other to catch up with the leader(s) take the corners @ about 145-150mph and you should avoid the 'Indy Stripe' .

It's my unfortunate duty to announce that my virtual driver of the #13 has died in a horrendous pratcice session crash yesterday evening for the Indy 100 . We here @ Spike Motorsports must move on though so we have hired his clone to race the already rebuilt #13 in the Indy 100 tomorrow

I may be there, for the warm up at least. Keen to see if the new ISP improves the connection problems I had. Cheers...

Hey Guys,
Well.... Since I am not very much of an oval driver i would normally let this one pass... But I am willing to make an exception, though i have no starting point for a setup of this thing.
Is anyone willing to share his setup or at least give me a basic idea of how to do this. My lack of racing on ovals is showing here hehe.
I'll take an ingame car.
cheers,
Triz

There's a setup that comes with the mod called Wat_Indy.gar. It's what we've been using. Ucrdoh probably can give changes he's made in practice today.
