I wont be able to attend the race. But I will definitely join in for some practice sessions next week! Been itching to hit the track again.

If no-one's taken the #15 Mustang, I'll have it I should be able to make it along for this one, although I won't state for definite, as that seems to be a jinx for me, hah! It'll be good to get back racing though, on a fun circuit too. What're the benchmark laptimes for this joint? My best so far in the little bit of practice I've done is a 1'16.780 on an unedited version of Cholerix's setup (thanks for donating those base setups by the way, much appreciated). Perplexingly I was being absolutely blown away by the AI - do their cars have Scalextric grooves in the chassis or something?! UPDATE: Amazing what a few more practice laps can do - I've no knocked a couple of seconds off of that, new best lap stands at 1'15.058, and I reckon I can get that to become an average laptime - I didn't feel too uncomfortable running it, either. From my early (rookie) observations, two sections of the track are vital for a good laptime - the high speed series of corners past the start-finish line (especially the second of the three 'S' sections), and the esses section where the circuit rejoins with the back straight of the long section. With the high-speed esses, carrying speed through here is vital - one blip or slide, and momentum is lost going up the hill for the long hairpin right. At the esses, it's tricky, with the first left corner being blind and on the crest of a hill, and the second right corner being sharp and downhill - a real pain to master. As the car goes downhill, in my experience it just wants to understeer straight into the fence when you power down, but after some tweaking of my racing line, I've got some decent corner speeds through here now.

Practice session today July 13th @ 4pm est. Till the speedsims server is back up we'll use 1.heatfinder.net for practice I just saw this message. The server did an automatic update, but like you I couldn't connect to the server either. Sorry I didn't see this post earlier. Server is up and running now. Right now I'm messing around with a hex editor, and my eye's are now seeing double.hehehe

well dumb me, I was practicing at the wrong track until yesterday, i was doing the CAN-AM one. lol Fortunately, it's very similar to the one we're doing, just the one we're doing is shorter. I pulled a Michael Waltrip in that commercial.
Yet since most of the club track is in the can-am track, I haven't missed much, and will be up to speed shortly.
