Wow, man, I'd forgotten just how much of a difference my wheel makes to my driving. Even though the brake pedal's busted (I'm using a button on the wheel to brake), I've just connected it up and Im running much smoother laps now.

I'm no faster, oddly enough, but I'm enjoying the racing much, much more now - with my cheapy gamepad, I was teetering on disaster nearly every lap, and often did flirt with disaster. It was unlikely I'd have got through a 25-lap event without wrecking a good 2-3 times at some stage, put it that way. Now I'm lapping consistantly (around mid-1'15s) and much more comfortably.

Now I've made that discovery, I'm really hyped for Saturday and the race. Any chance anyone could get on the track before then for some practice?

Also, I was wondering if anyone could do me a favour. I fancy creating a custom paint for the race, but the templates for this mod are in .psp (paint shop pro) format. Tried downloading the trial for that, didn't work. Could any Paint Shop Pro users do me a big favour and send me a version of the Challenger and Camaro templates in .psd format? Or advise me how I could open it in Photoshop/GIMP?

Well, a pretty interesting race in all, with the track proving quite a challenge despite it's short length.

Positives for me? I was 3rd before my chance encounter with the wall of death (which a fair few others had meetings with during the race, to be fair), and I was starting to run mid-1'14s in the 2nd half of the race, so it's good to finally be quite competitive in a simrace for the first time - it's taken me 3 years on and off, but I've made it

My deepest apologies to Patch - feel really bad about taking you out My bad on that one man.

Congrats to Triz for the victory, and thanks to everyone for the race, was good fun running with y'all. Hope to do it again sometime.

That was quite some fun. I qualified 7th so I had no expectations whatsoever. Then somehow a few laps into the race a bunch of guys messed up... cars everywhere just after the esses. I could evade them and got into 3rd position.

After that i could overtake the 2nd position car and was driving behind Chris. A few laps later he made a mistake after exitting the corkscrew and I never let the 1st position go

Made a couple of pens though in the opening stages of the race though which cost me 12 seconds. So instead of 16 secs lead i only won with 2+ secs left
