After the practise session on wednesday we notished that no one was able to run a clean lap.
There for the race setup will be adjusted as follows: There will be no qualifying and the lenght will be shortened to 8 laps. At the start of the race we will just drop and go.

hmmm, outright this is a tricky track.just touching off the tarmac & slightly going on rumble strips i got penalties, much less putting a whell on full curb or 2 in sand & car pitches and stalls. i only managed 20 or so laps here, but about 100 that never made the finish line. now burnout broke my heart we he acknowledged that the hump was something of a launch pad fit for a missile. 1st if you watch the ai u will see that their throttle remains open long after the point of a blown engine down that strate, topping out out 250+ mph. 2nd with no wing i topped out at 240 at the very crest. with med wing i lose 20mph. max wing is irrelevant. by tues i rationalized that yes braking just where road starts to rise & shifting down resulteed in a much more controllable car & was kind of hoping the aliens would just dart off .... right now i have down force set for the entire track but have no top end. i'm tempted to ask for a final gear & 5th gear setting so i can reach over 230. wing is set at med. next is the original q sesion approach. i think it would be better to have a 4 or 5 lap race, went we drop, we circle the course then strte into pits say to the left side away from crews. then 1 by 1 we just exit do the insall to reach the s\f line then do the hot lap. this way if someone slips up or crashes the following car is not affected. also every1 can verify the lap times. now i'm late for work. gl all

Sorry but what has to do people not being able to do a lap with resorting to a random grid? If we are positive no one can complete a lap without crashing maybe the problem lies in choosing Le Mans... I know some people would be very pissed if they start last and some random accident wrecks them in the middle of Mulsanne in lap 1 My 2c

Le Mans (for real or sims) is a track for endurance racing... I see no problem on picking it. It seems perfect to me. The survivor wins!!

At the end of practice yesterday I managed a few clean laps. The track is a bit looser on the server so you have to adjust for that. The launchpad isn't much of an issue if you slow to 200-210mph and not touch the brake instantly on landing. The setup posted on the setups page works well top speed wise if you adjust the wing/downforce. Also move weight forward and increase brake bias. As for the pen traps; some are a bit touchy such as the one tight turn with the helicopter, even touch the inside curb with one tire there results in a pen, just avoid using the curbs and slow down ahead of the turn instead of slamming on the brakes @ the last possible second. To appease some could always do a bit of a pacelap till we get to the mulsanne straight and then go green.

Guys, we have a lot of things going on going into this first race. We have a brand new mod that everyone is just getting use to, that we are all about to start racing, a tricky track that can cause some problems. What it basically comes down to is practice, and tweaking your setup. The SCP mod, Group C and Grand Am mod all these mods can be a blast to race here. Group C cars are a blast and have a ton of down force like real life. The SCP cars like real life don't have that much down force. So basically like you see the cars in the video's with the cars being setup with not much df and also being lighter can cause some problems. Now the challenge is to find the sweet spot with the track, setting up your car properly, the driver making the choice of either braking a little bit earlier or keep there foot pressed down to the floor. ;D So talk to your crew chief and make sure he sets up your car properly. If they don't, fire your crew chief and get a new one! ;D That's why we are road racers guys, we love a challenge! ;D So the challenge for all of us is to try and tame this BEAST of a track. But for us to be able to do it, we will need a ton of patience, practice time, and a bit of luck. This is one heck of a challenge for all of us. Hell I love to go fast, and even I struggled big time yesterday, but with a little bit of motivation and patience it helped big time.. Come on guys!! We can do this!!

i think the original qually and 11 laps is still the way to go. if you try to sprint race every corner of every lap the evil sand or guard rail trolls will probably bite you. find that small level of safety and consistency and things will be all right. 3 lap sprints don't encourage that. will we be required to use the pit entrance double chicane or the shortcut?

Seeing the discussion I started, here is the final verdict!
2 lap qualifying and full race length it's going to be.
