So...do I get to look at anyones setups from the race? (Le Mans)
I used the ford one from the setups page and thought I was hot stuff when I beat the record listed of 3:02.8 minutes. But after seeing the ~2:55 minute laps, I guess that setup was from a different Le Mans, one with extra chicanes.

you can have one right here, everyone probably lowered their wings as far as they could go for this race. Attachments:

Here's the one I got pole with. Ford setup But remember one thing! Setups can be very personal. Some drivers create their setups depending on their style of driving, meaning that someone else can't drive the same laptimes with a setup from that driver. Attachments:

Thanks. Um, what cars do these setups go with? I heard the car makes a difference. On the setup page, theres a setup for each type of car.

Thanks. Um, what cars do these setups go with? I heard the car makes a difference. On the setup page, theres a setup for each type of car. Good question. When it comes to the Group C cars, each car is different. While they are all equalized to make close racing, each car's behavior is different. One may be looser, one may be faster on a straight than in a curve, one may be faster in a curve than on a straight, one may be better suited to a certain type track than another...etc. So yeah, that was a good question. When it comes to the setups they've provided. You can load one up in the game, and hit Print Screen and take a screenshot of it and paste that into a painting program. Then do the same for the others you have. Then you can compare the differences between them all. Everyone has a different driving style, so some setups (like DaveO's) might look really strange. But Dave is one who takes a lot of time in practicing both online and offline and working on setups to be as good as he is. He is a true alien. He can make anything he drives go fast.

. Thanks Ray for the very nice compliment. If you spend some time working on learning the basics of adjusting a setup, and spend some time practicing you will see a big difference in your own racing abilities. But it's up to that person to take the initiative to want to learn and practice. In other threads you will see open practice sessions which you can attend and get the help if you so desire. Plus anyone is free to post and see if you can get some people online to practice with you. The SpeedSims server is up 24/7 so please feel free to use it anytime you want to get in some online practice...

I use a G25 wheel with no non-linear steering at all. It gives me better feeling for control. ofcourse this is a personal preference.
Same goes for overshoot and deadspot. None of that. If you have a relatively new wheel from a brand like logitech... They're digital wheels so have no need for deadspot settings and the like. At least, thats what i have found so far.
Same goes for smoothing: not needed.
from memory.... supersampling is on with me. not to sure if it has great effect.
Like i said most of these settings are personal.
cheers,
Triz

Just a footnote on settings:
Smoothing should NEVER be used for online racing. In the past we found it made all kinds of lag occur.
I may be wrong but I thought there was a thread at Mod Squad about recommended Game settings for online racing.
Wheel configuration is more personal and varies according to taste, experience and occasionally myth and legend. :-)
The system configuration for the wheel is modified by the game. Sometimes this is as you would expect. It can also make setting up a car tricky if the in-game adjustments do not compliment the system settings. This is especially true of things like steering rotation range and Force Feedback.
