Two new tracks released this week and a new online series starting tomorrow...hey, not a bad week for a "dead" sim! Rock on, HEAT Bubba What is the other track released this week? If your talking about Mexico City...that was released as a beta a few months back. There is still some small things left to do to it (like adding pit boxes, minor pit AI tweaks and such)...but it was released a few months ago for feedback by Sucahyo...and a few folks commented with feedback, but not many. I've been trying to figure out something for new skyboxes...since Sucahyo had sent me a test skybox from NR2003 in his Homestead conversion...but there is something odd with the NR2003 skyboxes when they get converted....like they lose roundness or something. So maybe an ISI skybox might work...I dunno. I think if you have nice, new, higher resolution skies...it just makes the tracks look so much better.Just take a look at the original track skies...then take a look at NR2003 skies..or rFactor/GTR2 skies and you'll see what I mean. I think if the NR2003 skies can be fixed up right...they'll look great in Heat. Here is an example of what Oleg (TheMask) was able to do when he was working on Gateway from NR2003 into Heat. But as far as "dead"...nah,not even close to dead.I know of quite a few more tracks coming and a few more mods coming.

Mexico track is indeed the one released couple of months ago. But since it was only announced on ModSquad forum I suspected it might have gone unnoticed by quite some road racing folk. Furthermore, due to lack of webspace, it was only temporarily available.
I've recently asked Sucahyo for hosting his NHeat tracks and he's ok with this.
Thus I made the banner on front page... kind of re-release ;D

Ahh...ok.That's cool.I just figured most of you guys also visited The Mod Squad too...but I can understand about it getting overlooked...especially since we're having problems with folks connecting to the site and all. But between Mexico City and Heartland Park...it shows how nice some NR2003 tracks can look in Heat. Just wait until you guys get to take Daytona Road Course for a spin. ;D

yep, I missed it over there at MS, saw it 'first" here so counted that as a "new" (at least to me) track. Updates on mexico look GREAT. Love that track... I'm working on classic sports cars and they will go great there. Glad to hear there's moh new stuff coming for HEAT, you know, I've had everything since Bill Elliots NASCAR Challenge to Rfactor and I have to admit I keep coming back to HEAT. I don't even run the patch, man (other than 1.80) I have the ORIGINAL CD boxed set game, with everything in the data folder as opposed to the run folder, it was a gift my wife gave me for Christmas one year way back when it first came out. I cherish it.
Say, you guys ever run the HEAT, the original game? Despite its modding potential, I got it originally for a NASCAR game and its damned good. I have NR2003 and all the rest and HEAT still delivers! Sometimes, I just crank up the original game and go bang some fenders and walls and shyte, NASCAR style, and its damned good fun! Fast and fluid and looks great into the bargain. I LOVE Rfactor but for me its failed to deliver beyond the visual as far as good racing goes without a LOT of work, and so on.
Viva le HEAT! I like to think of it as what SCGT grew up to be?

Just wait until you guys get to take Daytona Road Course for a spin. ;D I WANT DAYTONA ROAD COURSE!!! I WANT DAYTONA ROAD COURSE!!! I WANT DAYTONA ROAD COURSE!!! Sorry... did that sound too whiny and needy? Its the one great track (originally marketed as "desert speedway" due to licencing restrictions) in SCGT thats still missing, and since I want to assemble a Daytyona 24hrs car set, then... I NEED DAYTONA ROAD COURSE!!! Bubba

Its the one great track (originally marketed as "desert speedway" due to licencing restrictions) in SCGT That's what I had always suspected - but then I stumbled upon some site that had photos from a 1997 Las Vegas Sportscar Grand Prix... and that showed exactly those cars that have been in SCGT. Unfortunatly I've lost that link

it may be dying, but i can d/l one of these new tracks, install it, run heat for 10 laps on new track, in less time than it takes rFactor to start and open a track. that's sad.

Wow, do we have to wait that long everytime ? About sky, currently we have to deal with draw distance problem. Or anyone know how to make a texture always appear even if it is very far? maybe texture priority help? Some example:
