I am glad I live in a country where it is very difficult to get a gun in the first place... I know what I am about to say may start a discussion as well but: If it was easy for everybody to get a gun, it only takes one looney to create havok. And when that looney has no trouble in getting a gun, that havok just became hell. Sure even here in the Netherlands there are incidents, because our system is not perfect either. But the chance of someone just starting to shoot around is not very high, because nobody owns a gun. Chance for me someone get at my door with a gun is extremely low.

To me, I really hope some day that guns could be banished so there is no need to have them around anymore.

In my opinion it's pretty screwed up that you have to have a license and take a drivers course to drive a car/truck etc... but can walk into any Gun/Sporting Goods/General store and buy a gun as long as you have a legal id and money or go to a gun show and not even need an id at all. A gun safety course should at least be a requirement before/when you buy.
