My suggestion: choose a mod that provides good close door-to-door racing, thats what most people is looking for.
Given that, F1 have some drawbacks:
- They have no doors ;D - They're just too fast to be good for close racing

TBH I prefer leaving series organization to individuals with the experience and will to deal with what a proper series demand, like Karl or Chris.
Besides, my favourite mods are the ones already being used, so no need for new series for me ;D

IMO for F1 like series (open wheel) I have found that the FR2K mod provides the best close racing (not as fast as F1 but surely fast enough and easier to get a competative setup). Setting up a series requires some thought on what tracks you would run and thinking on how many laps you would set up for each track.
As a F1 like series I would pick tracks that are used in the F1 races (like Monaco, Brno, Spa). Setting the amount of laps is based on how many minutes you would like to run each track, then you would have to look on estimate laptimes and put that all together. Estimate laptimes are basicly taken by looking at a fast driver who ran that track before or asking a fast driver to run some laps to see what laptimes are posible.
Just my 2c Chris

To add my 2c as well....
I don't think it to be a great idea to come up with some suggestion about running a specific mod every 2h - and each 2h a different one
You'd at least have to seriously check each of these mod's physics on a variety of tracks. Which is time consuming and for sure not be done in just 2h

I have given up several sundays looking at races to see what happend. Chris

Besides to whats been said, b1tch1n' and moanin' is heaps more fun than organizing and dealing with complaints ;D Oh yes Handling of complaints and race review part is the really big fun aspect ;D But all this is the fun that comes AFTER having put up that organizing parts, which should be done before even announcing a series. Things like: carefully test and chose tracks, ideally make some base setups, check about laptimes to estimate race lengths; even run these race lengths to check on wear rate Simply chosing a mod and some tracks and run this in a series only works on well established mods such as WGTC, V8, GroupC, FR2K, HMC . I'd NEVER try running a GroupC race at Metro track or at Becancour for example, but it's a heap of fun in HMC mod. while HMC at Lemans is a promise to fall asleep after 2 laps, which is unlikely to happen with GroupC at Lemans on the other side ;D As for F1 or CCA mod, I have no clue about these mods; never ran them. They'd run a CCA series over at TSR some years ago, so maybe Ron could tell about these cars

Hell yeah, remember Heat's golden age? Right when I decided it would be a good idea to run that DTM series, we had around one of the biggest fields in heat.
Not only that, we had an X-Men running with us! His name was PeterV and he had the uncanny ability to piss everyone off big time! Was really fun to be the admin of those series, with everything going smooth!! ;D
Its just too bad the old SCORE forum is gone, those discussions must been like 6 pages long hehehe
OT: No clue about CanAm either

I've later on found some PeterV at RSC who was acting way different. Looked like that guy was into modding/physics for rF and only contributed constructive posts.
Dunno if that was the same PeterV though.
