Well Race 1 went pretty smooth. In qualy I overshot T1 and smacked the wall whitch concluded in a 5th starting position. Throughout that race I held on to that place giving R.P. Jones a hard time, in the last lap he overshot the last turn and I could pass him taking 4th.
In race 2 lap 2 Ron misjudged a turn and got in front of my car and we both ended up offtrack. Later that lap Cooknl overshot T1 and hit the wall, he bounced back in tha path of Dave who in turn got hit by Crash, Cholerix had the better part of that mayhem by squizing his car through all of it. Dave spun hitting the right and left wall and ended up in front of me, I came rushing over the hill and there he was, no way to avoid collission and damaging my spoiler completely.
From that moment on everything got worse, I tried to adjust some settings and overshot a turn smacking into the wall and damaging my car all the way so I had to make a extra pitstop dropping me to the rear of the field.

Quite the opposite here Race1 my last-minute adjustment on spoilers paid off... car felt like shit and I could barely turn in anywhere without the back of my car trying to overtake its front So after half the race after having been more off- than ontrack I gave up, went to garage and tried to adjust settings for race2 Worked pretty well I have to say, though Spidolf got me in 2nd turn of race2 already and refused to give back the lead to me We had a merry time on the next 3-4 laps, with Patch and Crash passing through ;D. On my rear view mirror I once glimpsed flying cars - must have been that Rob/Dave/Chris incident. After finally passing Spidolf, rest of the race was pretty smooth for me. No one coming up from behind, and the 2 in front driving in some other world ;D

as i said in the pits this was simple a study physics and the science of motion. on the st8s all were = hitting a good 190-195, i dont think anyone went 200 here. but if u watch the replays u will see that the front runners had a decisive 5-10mph margin in a few corners. then there was the carousel which was gripless to me. my car was set perfect not a twitch anywhere. at first in my practices i had soft springs relying mostly on bumps, sway and rebounds for grip. i got steady 53's. then i increased just front springsand then adjusted other component to match and the car went 1:50.x . now my point is those 1-3 corners that the drag on my car was so much. i tried heavy brakes, stiffened springs, soft springs nothing worked. maybe if i knew that all were maxing at only 190 then the aero would be more the better choice to concentrate on. in both races my rear areo was 34 and front 45 with car weight balance more to the rear. but none the less it will all b taken as telemetry for the future. ran a better race in 2 but was careless entering pits 1st time.

Hey RT, Very tempting to run low wing at Road America, with those long straights. But you lose too much in the turns for it to be viable. I think there`s probably less than 10 road tracks where low aero settings is the right choice for me. Cheers...

Was great fun today! Can`t recall a Road America race I have`nt enjoyed. Race 1; Got off to a sluggish start and Dave promptly took the lead. But got it back a few corners later, was in a hurry. Was`nt sure if anyone could scrape through without stopping, so needed a good buffer. All went well, with no surprise no stoppers... Race 2; Was doing ok till I got hooked up in the Cooknl/Dave waltz..lol Got a fair bit of damage, though not as much as them or Humty who came through next. Struggled to my first pit, repaired damage, then drove like crazy trying to catch Patch. Caught up, but ran out of laps to pass. Got to within a second at the finish line. All credit to Patch, if not for a few measley penalties he would have won. Tough break mate. Congrats the podium guys in both races, thanks to all for sharing the track & making Road America another very enjoyable race event! Cheers...

Definitely not Silverstone. Cheers...

That may explain why I never had any race at Silverstone that didn't suck badly

Actually both races were very enjoyable!! Didn't matter if you were running upfront, or midpack. Good racing all around by everyone!!
