hello all. glad to hear the the new year is booked for new season of racing. i have practicing in various mods at various tracks trying to further understand the basic physics of producing a competitive car in nh. i am looking foward to driving among all who compete. what i am not looking forward to is a rehash of last season. when i say rehash i mean the little selfish acts of needless pushing one another off track, side by side smashups, ect, ect. it seems to me that one can predict the race outcome based on qualifying. this means the car on pole is the best position with the strongest car to win the race and the car in last will b just going for a ride. i understand that some drivers use paddle gizmos, thats cool as long as you use it to drive your race and not disturb someone elses. i personally invested quite a sum of money too enjoy my racing. at 1st banging in to another car not only disturbed my race it sometimes resulted in breaking my then inferior logi or tm wheel. as off late 2006 i purchased a thomas set, so now banging into another driver only disturbs my race and my temper. i am an older guy and i respect that theres a faster driver than myself. i come out to race just for pleasure sake. bragging rites at my age is an embarrassment when it comes to simulation racing, even though very few people can or could match my skill without intense instruction and practice. according to 10 years of online sim racing that boils down to less then a handful of particulars. the object is to win yes but theres other points to racing in my view. at rd at in scgts last year i couldnt get over the feeling of having to twist my body to the side so often when making the turns. to me it was unbelievable that the physics could have me so wrapped, it was better than a roller coaster ride. i actually jerk forward under braking at many places. i know some of you from way back in 2000 by your driving styles even though names have changed. the few newcomers who joined in are gladly welcomed. just because this form of racing is free and and so far gentlemanly does not give one driver the right to upset anothers race just because. why so there b 1st comer pile-ups or faster car drivers punting slower ones off track just to gain or maintain position? especially the faster drivers aggressiveness towards slower cars, ok so u are a lap ahead and need to get by, take a safe, driver considerate path to getting around him say on a straight or a wide corner or with a concisive clean pass. theres no need to damage his car sending him into pits to lose another lap. but if you feel this type of driving is beneficiary then i can see why this sport and industry has not grown in 10 years. and me personally, well i have had and off beginning to the new year so i am kind of hungry to race live humans but by years end i will no longer need to rely on international competition as i should have enough to call thomas again some more sets and will race amongst a more professional class of drivers via lan networking. so the 1st few races that i enter will decide whether i will bother to race online (here) anymore. wish all who compete in 2009 the best of luck,
