Hey guys, I want to install gimp (or a similar photo editor) to my laptop (running windows 7). I'd like photoshop but as it's used for work i dont want any questionable software installed. So my question is 1) i dl'ed the gimp for windows installer but it wont run, just hangs at the splash screen, is there a trick for running it on win7? 2) or is there another graphic editor in the range of photoshop that is free other than gimp?

May give a hint what gives it trouble on your system as well ? 2) not for free, but for low cost and reported to be extraordinarily good: www.acronis.de/homecomputing/products/trueimage/
