Congrats to all who made the podium, and to everyone for making it a very enjoyable to race. My own race consisted of patience, and little bit of pit strategy, and a little bit of speed when I needed it. Thanks to my teammate for the pep talk. He knows who he is! Sometimes even veteran drivers who have been racing for years, need a chat once in a while. So this win goes to him and the team. Shout out to Spike, congrats on finishing 2nd, you drove a flawless race, you used patience and great judgment. Congrats on a job well done. I don't normally post results.txt on here, but since this is your 2nd ever race at SpeedSims, I can't help it. ;D RACE RESULTS Track: Surfers T Laps: 20 Realism: Hardcore AI Strength: Medium Rules: None Pos Car Driver Result Best Lap Laps Led ================================================================= 1 983 DaveO 29:31.319 77.249 6 2 843 Spike G +4.408 81.979 4 3 947 RPJones +7.898 80.543 1 4 725 Bmxtwins +31.926 80.734 0 5 65 Chris +34.044 81.291 0 6 882 Triz +52.792 79.591 5 7 930 Blaxman +1:15.1 82.759 0 8 626 Patch +1L 80.456 1 9 921 Mustangman +1L 79.352 0 10 912 Cholerix +1L 83.880 0 11 4 theoryspdlf DNF 81.789 0

Thanks guys ;D, I can't believe I qualified so well either. You know the funny thing is that's the first 20 laps I was able to keep all the wings on and the car in one peice with little damage @ Surfers Paradise lol. In all the practices I did I always ended up slamming the wall byt the 6th lap lol. Dave thanks for being patient and waiting to pass on a straight. Congrats on the win and the incredible 1:17 lap, the best I could do in all the practices was 1:21:00; but my setup was perfect for me, just a little tight. I take it timing is a bit different in NHeat than SCGT. I took a quick glance and seen you were 3 sec behind and the next thing I know you're on my tail ;D I'll def. be @ Sears Point/Sonoma and possibly make Sebring unless real life butts in.

Thanks for the kind words. ;D The speed came from an incredible base set that Karl had given to me a few weeks ago, and lots of practice, I also lowered my rear wing to 51, lowered the gears, and threw in some new shocks and springs. Anytime next week you or anyone want to take spin at Sonoma give a shout, I'll be more then happy to run some online during the week.

Idiot me should have a) made use of my Birmingham setup, like Dave. Funny thing, I even thought about doing that, but for what reason ever I didn't b) checked for my line instead for the rear view mirror in first lap in first backstreet chicane c) NOT tried to get into the 2nd chicane in 3rd lap faster than ever had worked out in practice, just to work off that first repair pitstop from b) d) better pitted a second time to get repairs instead of running with ZERO front downforce for 11 laps after c) Nonetheless my driver seat was soaked thru from fighting... it just wasn't positions I was fighting for, but an almost undrivablecar in laps 4-15 ;D

Mustang and I used my Birmy set as a base, I used the first edit no idea what mustang did, I just used the most stable one. Gears seemed off but I didnt have much expectations anyways, I'm surprised to even get 4th, expected 7th. Edit: my aplogies for spoiler damage Karl.

Was leading the race at some point... then fell back to second and SG running first. I knew Dave would be running up ranks quickly and then disaster struck me just a few laps after my pitstop. I touched the wall in the fast chicane and found myself spinning in the air. And in the process I sadly collected patch :\
From that point I just couldnt keep focus enough anymore to be any threat to BMX and last but not least, I damaged my left front suspension. Had to consolidate with 6th position. I think i could have gone for 4rth maybe 3rd... but it wasn to be... and what was worse.... after the race i descided to test my set with more downforce and came to the conclusion that was 1.5 secs faster!
Next race i am going to do alot more testing. Thats probably why the last few races i wasnt that competitive. To little laps. As mustang clearly portrays in the last couple of races, put in alot of laps and you'll find yourself up front!
cheers,
Triz

but look at it this way I averaged 1:21-1:23 laps, sometimes faster isn't always better. Here's the setup I used, If you don't like your cars a bit on the tight side you probably won't like this setup Attachments:

I agree in most occasions thats true, just the added downforce would have helped me getting through the chicanes, esspecially the fast one. Oh well it doesnt really matter now, all i am saying that with a lil bit more testing i am hoping to get some better results

My set was fine but as triz said, extra downforce would've saved me atleast 1 second a lap, especially in the fast chicane where I kept getting my wheel unsynched against the wall.
