id be more for running a realistic track than a track thats a challenge to drive and will be a wreck fest IMHO. like montreal (T) or monteal NW

that depends on how you're trying to run it, right now my top speed is not even 160, and it gets pretty bumpy at that speed. Well it may depend on your gear ratios, i don't even get to 5th gear at this point. So take it easy. It may change, but let's try the challenge. Lets not give up so easily.
However, if we are going to change it, let's change it now, and not wait.

hey real road racers do it in the Rain. step one be smoooth, two don't be too brave until the tires warm up (takes longer , 140 degrees imho) and of course make sure you have the rain tires on. I like it .

Well Ron is correct Road Racers do race in the rain, and our main focus is road racing! ;D We won't be changing this track. It's a very fun track to drive. ;D Like ANY new track, it takes time to learn how to drive it, so that means PRACTICE, having some patience, and also having a good attitude helps also.

Why some people think anything they have problems with is 'not realistic"? It's a known fact not all of us ever had the chance to drive real cars under any real conditions, wich probably make the 'realism' a bit abstract for some, but trying to learn how to handle a car according the situation is way better than trying to change things everytime something different comes along..... Another good option is starting to build their own mods, tracks, etc. Then we'll see realism at its best....... I HOPE! .

Recently I had an opportunity to run a Kart on a slightly wet track.... hitting the wet parts with slick tyres was a very interesting experience. The Kart simply went straight, no matter what I tried. It was perfectly the same as like driving on ice So much for real life ;D As for simracing, indeed there's no way to know what is "real" unless you had a chance to run the real thing in comparison. For the upcoming Shelby mod for example I had to learn from the real drivers that the real car has much less grip than I thought it would have (and first physics version had) For such overpowered vehicles as the IRL cars I'd expect running on a wet track to be slippery as hell. No way to get all that power to the road unless you are veeeeery careful about throttle. And downforce won't be able to compensate for lack of grip, so turning will be scary as well That's what I think would be "realistic". Without having run an IRL car in RL, or in Heat on a wet track yet And even if a mod's physics wouldn't match my expectations 100%... from what experience should I be able to tell who's right ? Last "rain race" I have been in was in 2003 in SCGT. And I recall us all to have had a lot of trouble to stay on the track. In GT3 cars, that had MUCH less power than the IRL cars....

Karl's right predict it to be slippery as hell. So being fast is not a good option to shoot for. Better to be very careful with the throttle. Oh and for some of you, here's a screenshot of real life IZOD series drivers racing in the rain.

And that is why the track was made... because they race when it rains and it adds a very different challenge too.

nice vid blax , that'll encourage everyone to enter the race now! lol. I'm just glad we're using this mod, and not the CART 2 mod. Those are challenging to drive anywhere. As for the track, don't expect high speeds, just focus on getting around the track, the wet tires do work, you just have to give them time. I ran a 10 lap run yesterday, and my tires were barely worn.

If guys are going to go back and forth with how fast you are at getting around this track this week I think you are NUTS for even bragging about your lap times.. This track is NOT about how fast you can go. This track is a different kind of challenge for us this week. It's about us trying to race kinda like how they do in real life in the IZOD Series. I think Blax would be okay with me saying that. It's not about who's the fastest. It's about who's up for the challenge of actually taking the time to practice, and actually trying something new kinda like what the real life drivers go thru. I myself have driven this track alot the last day or so. So imho, go out there take your time, and have some plain old fun!! ;D

Right on, Dave! ;D Racing is not necessarily a "speed contest" all the time, it's about crossing the finish line before your oponnents. Speed helps a lot but, it's not everything....
