Since I'm now 2 weeks without DSL line, as my ISP hasn't maganed to fix a problem yet, I've now set a deadline for next monday. If I still cannot connect to internet then, I'll change ISP Those 2 weeks without being able to fix that problem has been just ridiculous Hope I'll be back online (apart from 56k dial-in) soon...

...and it's still continuing They've again told me they'll send a technician. On the last time, 2 weeks ago, nobody was showing up. This time... surprise... again nobody showing up Ok, that's it. Enough of being fooled by this bunch of incompetent %$§)' Have canceled my contract with them &§"/&"$ !! 5 minutes ago and signed to another ISP. Now let's hope this change won't take more but a few days

Update... now my old ISP denies acceptance of my contract cancellation. Claiming there's a minimum runtime up to mid of next year...btw, they still haven't fixed the line after 4 weeks... guess I have to consult some lawyer to get rid of these bastards

wouldn't be surprised if you get faster action from the company lawyers than the service techs, or maybe it is the same guy? and he is in court all the time.

Well, at least today the anoounced technician DID come here. And as I told them ISP 30 ago already, it was a database entry missing for routing my address to PPoE server... and it did only 30 days for them to fix that. So for now I'm back online on DSL. Just curious how many resyncs I'll get on the next days...

I would have kidnapped him and blackmail the company, but for the sounds of it, the technician was pretty worthless lol

I wouldn't say worthless, as that guy at least was able to call the ones who fixed the missing database entry. And he was from the company who owns the cable - and resells it to the ISPs - not from the ISP.
Problem is the ISP. If they'd been able to understand a problem - and they are NOT - the problem could have been fixed within 5 minutes. They only should have listened to what I had said and told that to a technician. But what they told the technician was "line trouble for investigation" which was total shit. Which was obvious to everybody with even a minimum understanding how DSL connections work
