i had fun thru out the entire season. i used this season to get practice and to better understand the physics of a racing car. i'm not a honda fan but i raced for fun. i had my high points and i had my low points. some days i had home life conflicts that edged me so i was put off. of course if the porsche group ever heard i won a race for honda my life would b over! indy cars are nice, but still have nothing on porsche. but seriously the tracks were to inviting not to drive. unfortunately $3000 odd dollars for 3dmax is way way out of my budget, but i do have the viper editor and if someone were to really show interest and cooperation i would try my hand at track making. cant b angry at karl or boastful on him as he has split his time to produce great work and still show up for racing. so i'm looking forward to the next season in whichever mod is chosen. so keep practicing cause mother always says it makes perfect. i need igor to fetch me a competent wing nut so we can really spice things up around here. to all, thanks

.... On the 2nd half I did my worst not to get caught by Bmx as well, but expectedly without success. Had I known Mustang to have that many pens, I would have tried to push on final few laps - but the way it was, I rather was happy to stay on the track ...... Don't worry I ran dave and mustang down aswell. Was running 46's consistently and pushing that car like crazy. Dave got lucky and had an extra second on me (damn wrecks) buit mustang had like 6 timetraps so lost to me. I think after your pitsstops i was 15 off on karl, and 30 off on mustang/dave. Dunno sharpshot (spiddold right) check your pm's I dropped u some info on Max 3-d-s

I'm currently trying to get into trackmaking myself. Task I put on myself for practice is getting the last remaining (missing) SCGT track to Heat. So far as I can tell 3dsmax is only needed to export track 3D data to FLT format, which is required in the process. But check out this: www.quick3d.org as that may be an alternative way to get an FLT export from Zmod2 or AC3D My problem is that I have tried to get into 3dsmax (3.x) but cannot get used to it. So I try to find a way to get around 3dsmax. And since zmod2 and AC3D are WAY easier to use and available at reasonable cost, for me that's the way to go. In case it works, but with support from Quick3D, it looks promising

I found 3dsmax easy, you draw a line of the track shape, weld em, make a line for track width (using measruements) then render, then bank it with something I forgot, add grass which is easy because u snap it along the nodes of the tarmac, and then walls. For modelling thatis, not sure about packaging textures (after assigning) and then ofcouirse physics and penalty traps etc.

Makes me then wonder where's all that car/track 3D models of yours if it's that easy to use ? ;D Modeling (not modding !) isn't just welding 2 vertices to get a poligon so far as I know. The main aspect is to have tool that gives you 100% control on the 3D space and every object in that space - and every aspect of any object. And that's where 3dsmax fails on me

I've been messing with Zmod for a few years, and I still don't know everything, and I still lookup stuff or bug the hell out of the experts when I get lost.

Its straightforward and intuitive enough. As for 3dsmax.... I never really dared to touch it since it has such a magnitude of options. Is not easy to overview. So i stuck with zmodeler. Kinda boastfull to say its an easy programme because it just isnt. but ummmm this discussion is a bit off topic for montreal pre race hehe cheers, Triz

All my stuff is done using Z-mod. I rather the turnaround Z-Mod limitations with some creativity. That's a self-challenge I created to myself. ;D .

Well I kinda mis phrased that, but it is able to be done.. it isnt done yet but ... Pitroad, track most of grass (untextured) is done, just need walls and whatever else. Attachments:
