I know there will be a shelby league coming up soon, but I'm wanting to gauge interest in there being another Indy Car league, a short one, maybe five races, adding tracks that weren't raced on the original schedule. Perhaps doing it on the Shelby off weekend, I've heard some people like the idea, some don't.
I wanted to add some ovals, but ovals that also weren't a major risk to making big ones. But also some other tracks that weren't raced.
Here are the 5 races I had in mind.
Long Beach Portland, Milwaukee, Iowa Toronto.
I wouldn't mind doing a sort of title thing either, I don't do much web stuff, so i'd probably keep track of it here. But I think it would be fun. If not, then not, no harm done.
Just seein what people think of the idea.

Longbeachh is very dangerous with indy cars, I was in a league race here, too many infisivble walls, same for toronto (street track iirc). How about limerock_t or mexico.

I wouldn't mind trading Long Beach for lime rock, however, I do think Long beach is doable, but Limerock would probably be very fun, one of my favorite road courses for this game.

Longbeachh is very dangerous with indy cars. Are you talking about the Long Beach race we had with the Group C cars? That wasen't dangerous, that was a thrilling RACE. Man if I could do that race again I would in a hearbeat!!! Just gotta watchout for that one darn wall on that track. Started out with a great race with Crash on the pole. But of course, I knocked into the darn wall that sticks out on the track! LOL

Just seein what people think of the idea. Running a series, isn't just about posting stuff on the forums. You need to know a little bit about web stuff, so you can create web pages of the rules, schedule, standings, drivers page, incidents. etc etc. Plus creating banners with Gimp or with PSP, coming up with how many laps, common. res files, plus reviewing replays after the races checking for incidents, then all the following up. stuff. Maintaining a series isn't just about posting stuff on a forum. You need to spend a lot of hours maintaining it. So I would really really think about it before making a commitment to something like this.

well thank you dave for showing how much this may take, that does sound like quite a bit. I'm not sure if I do have all of that knowledge, i have started using GIMP, the main thing, is I just want to continue doing some stuff with the Indycar mod, I've had so much fun with it.
I'll probably do the Shelby mod as well. Seems fun, and with school coming up, I need to make sure the school stuff gets taken care of as well.

Pick up races indeed require much less effort on the maintaining side. But if you want to get in numbers of drivers, you have to put more effort into the advertising. Just announcing a race on a forum doesn't get in numbers btw... Longbeach doesn't have invisible walls. It has a tricky layout that is very challenging to fast cars and even more challenging to fast openwheel cars. But for a city track, like Toronto as well, it's rather straightforward and easy. Unlike for example Surfers or Vancouver

As for long beach, there are some tirewalls in the first turn you can drive right through. But i would consider that more of a run off area.

I'd be up for a few oval races.
