Greetings all, i'm ammods, i've been around modding for about 10 years or more, and i remember playing this game, or iits sister game viper racing (same format). i have a couple of questions, 1. is there a poly limit 2. can this game handle multiple textures, as most of the mods i've modded use multiple textures, you can find more about what i'm about and what i'm looking to bring to a new game - ammods showroom

The game doesn't seem to have a fixed limit on poligon count, but may get into trouble if the overall sum of car/track poligons exceeds some range There are some single car mods that have > 10.000 polys per car and seem to work with most tracks. On the other hand it has turned out to be a wise move to stay below certain poligon limits for cars - especially if you're not much into the LOD modeling part and thus have high poly load at all view ranges From my own experience, I'd say that cars with 4-5000 poligons for are ok in any way, but if you go higher you should better have a very detailed LOD modeling. Actually there's little need to go much higher, as you'd have trouble to see much of the additional detail in the game anyway - it's usually eye candy you will only be able to notice in render screenshots 2) The game does handle mutliple textures. But it does a limit to how many texture files it can handle at the same time. For that reason on a track with a lot of texture files like Lemans or Nordschleife the game crashes when run with texture-intense mods and too many cars. Try for example WGTC mod at Lemans with >25 cars. Then try same with GroupC mod - only difference is the amount of textures per car in both mods The user-CUSTOM paints, however, can only be each one texture. Like at LFS, and unlike at ISI-sims

cheers for the answer, i'll have to have a look at what my mods are like, in that respect, i know my tracks are reasonably high poly, because they are for just that - "isi-based sims"
i've got alot of respect for you guys still modding this old game..seems to be making a comeback hey lol
NH may be an ancient game. But the mods we have are top knotch and rival the newer sims out there.. NH has one of the best net codes for online racing that I've ever seen. But the one thing that makes NH unique is the community. It's the friendships we have made over the years. People from all over the world, with one passion that we all share. Which is NH..
