It would also be intresting maybe having a G2 Sprint Cup mod series featuring road course tracks other than Watkins Glen & Infineon. When G2 first came out a few years ago, that was a very popular idea here at SpeedSims. A driver by the name of Harding Jr was heading up that purposal. But he had left the heat community soon afterwards. And Yes, there are plenty of road course tracks to where you can race the Cup cars on, to where the pits work great with cup cars!! There are so many fantastic ideas in this thread, I don't see why we couldn't do a little bit of everything in 2012. ;D Even G2 road course series could be done! I'll talk to my buddy Blax about that. ;D Call me crazy, but with all of us putting our heads together, ANYTHING can be accomplished!!! Looks like SpeedSims in 2012 is gonna be one heck of a year! Keep the ideas coming guys.. Yes..... having some Platinum mods series on weekdays is something that could be easily done. Something that fits SpeedSims racing style and tradition would be awesome!! That's the beauty of HEAT..... there's room to everyone, every style on every kind of mod! ;D .

My thoughts on this are as follows:
Back in 2005 and 2006 we ran series that lasted almost a complete year which consisted of 20 to 22 races. People lost their intrest in running those races due to at least 2 reasons. 1. the series lasted too long. 2. slower drivers saw that they couldn't compete anymore for the top places so they stayed away.
To keep people intrested and because there are so many good mods we started to run shorter series so we could switch to another mod right after that.
Now a multy mod series sounds awesome and should be worth testing.
Looking back on the past years and the series we ran these would be the mods I would pick. Group C WGTC SCGTS PlatinumGP Shelby

Yep, that has happened in a few leagues over the years, so they started running shorter schedules thru out the years. Also some leagues keep running the same mod, as like there anchor mod, and run it the same time every year. This way it keeps bringing back the same drivers every year, without having to recruit and advertise every 3-6 months.. Multi mod kind of series are also a blast to run!! That's why were asking now in October to get some ideas of what people like, so it gives us some time to gather all the different ideas/data and then implement a few things that will be fun for everyone in 2012.

Just another crazy idea would be. A sunday Night racing madness. No points, just fun. Every sunday another mod. And to keep it easy, speedsims rules will be used but only checked after a complain. ;D

Maybe 1-2+ hrs using a single mod on numerous tracks with maybe 10-15 laps max, winner chooses the next track. To keep it simple use only tracks that the mod has a decent base setup for already. This would make great use of alot of mods that have been forgotten or are considered 'too old' such as Gasoline Alley, Spirit of Heat, OSRC Mustang Cobras, Canam, Supertrophy, WGTC etc... I know some of us really get into the series and could use a break for just some fun without worrying about points.

There is one idea, that keeps popping up in my head. Actually Raybee1970 had posted it. But like how they do the multiple classes at the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 and 24 Hours of Sebring, 24 Hours of Lemans, 12 and 24 Hours of Spa and Nurburgring ...etc.
Down the road Smoke will be releasing Daytona RC. I keep thinking we should have our own mini endurance race with this track. Like our very own 24 hours at Daytona RC. We could do this for example with the GrandAm mod. Like a race that runs for 60 or 90 minutes, now it could also be implemented in part of a series, as like a "fun race" with no points. Or with points. But, if you look back at some of Ray's ideas they sound like a lot of fun. It's almost like a multi mod series also..

One of the reasons why i like these "events' they dont count for points but sure have some nice close racing in them. Noone really dominates. So it would be a nice break indeed from the regular series.
