the great thing about this track i've found, is once you know how to drive it, it all comes down to setups. You change something you gain a few tenths, another thing, you gain another, and another, it adds up. It really shows, and if you go wrong, you know really quick. dunno if I would agree with that. A good friend of mine, Crash always told me. It was 40 percent setup, 60 percent driver.

I do see what you mean, but when i go out there, and I give it all I got, I still feel like i'm leaving something out there. I know you can't do well without the right setup. It took some practice, but now I feel like i've got this track figured out, so now it has come down to getting more speed in the car. For example, I changed the gear ratios, and got more speed than I ever got before. and dave BTW, i'm finally got to where you suggested, I'm still trying to get more, but I'm closer than I have ever been.

Thanks for the tips yesterday guys, gotten my car a little bit quicker after practice without making it too loose for my driving style. Here's a tip, watch out for the fence corner in the pic. I tend to go wide to get a good run for the left hander but man everytime I think I've cleared it I go spinning. Attachments:

Yep, that's one of the more popular places to wreck the car on this track. And since this is a high speed place, you always have a good chance to REALLY mess up ;D Another one would be start of the left-side wall after T4 if you got that one a little too fast, and then there's the tirewall on the left in backstraight esses - which is my personal favorite

alright, I think it should be known about the right side pit stalls at this track are going to have a lane penalty, and I believe positions 1-10 are going to be in the right lane. I know when I've run races against the AI, you still go into the right pit lane. I do believe in other mods on the original track seem to switch between pit stalls in the later positions. But the top 10 will pit on the right side. I don't think, this will effect the race, but it should be known that each side is going to be different. If there are over ten spots, 11 and beyond should be on the left side. But i'll do some testing to see where else people will be.

I just ran offline, indeed positions 1-10 get a pit lane penalty it holds you up almost another 10 seconds. Now I also tested against the AI's with myself pitting on the left hand side, and it does even it out. So even thou the guys on right hand side have a shorter pit lane entrance then the left hand side, it EVENS out with the left hand side, since they don't get a pit lane penalty automatically. Ryan, you can also double check me on the above tonight to confirm if you would like. Thanks again for your help and Karl's during practice today!! Fun time as always.

Actually I may have figured a way around the penalty, I stayed all the way to the left and just before my pit stall I turned into my stall & didn't receive a penalty. It might have just been a fluke but I'm going to try it a few more times. before that happened I was thinking about not qualifying and just starting in the back row.

Hey Spike, I beleive the track author's intention of having that pit lane penalty on the right hand side, was guys who pit on the right hand side don't have an unfair advantage of the guys who are forced to pit on the longer pit road on the left side. Could you please upload a short replay of you NOT getting a pit lane penalty while pitting on the right hand side? If that's the case, we may need to switch the track to the original Sears Point track.
